Nomads 03:57
Nomads On the road again at the break of day Our precious, little things companions on our way Crossing borders we are free to travel as we please Create a sense of home, wherever we may go For we are travelling people, forever on the move Always on the move, our load is light to bear Our fare is simple food, the winds can take all care People look when we arrive, they stare and wonder where We go and whence we come and what we have to share For we are travelling people, forever on the move Come away, from afar Come away, from afar Raise your tent, set up your stand Show your goods they're made by hand We have come from many lands And here's to the Nomads Here's to the Nomad and the blood still in our veins Children are our friends and old folk too are dear We share with them our dreams, we share with them our cheer We watch their smiles, we feel their tears as song and dance goes on And on into the night, the cheerful sounding night For we are travelling people, forever on the move Come away, from afar Come away, from afar Raise your tent, set up your stand Show your goods they're made by hand We have come from many lands And here's to the Nomads Here's to the Nomad and the blood still in our veins

Summer long 03:02
Summer long Down by the river, under the willow We spent lovers´ hours And if you pass by and look in the long grass See how we crushed all the flowers If I close my eyes and whisper your name I can feel you there at my side I should be happy that the summer was long We were one and you were my bride Sometimes there´s sorrow, often there´s pain Then I know you´re so far away It´s hard to imagine that the summer has gone And you have sailed across the sea The trees grow tall and the leaves grow green The field again full of flowers The sun is shining in a blue sky With dreaming I can pass the hours I´ll send you this letter over the water And when the summer is coming I´m down by the river, under the willow Waiting for your home-returning If I close my eyes and whisper your name I can feel you there at my side I should be happy that the summer was long We were one and you were my bride

The Atlantic Sea And the Atlantic Sea seams so far away to me As I look out from my window There´s a hard frost on the ground Not a movement of a leaf to be found The smoke that climbs from the chimney-pots Is as straight as the pine-tree stems That break the sky that´s blue as ice and cold The sun rises mecanically and shines without effect Almost out of duty, till it sinks in the west And the Atlantic Sea seems so far away to me If I close my eyes, I can see it Beating pebbles into sand I can hear the rushing waves beating the land Trees are bent with endless wind The people are intent On forging on despite the wind and cold Stormy nights and stormy days Exciting every nerve Stormy nights and stormy days Is what the heart deserves And the Atlantic Sea seems so far away to me

Two Love-Birds We were two love-birds some years ago Hugging and kissing the whole day through Now we hardly dare to touch Our love has changed so very much Now there´s silence and sorrowful eyes I ask you when and you don´t know why You ask me why and I don´t know when And so the story starts again The sun was shining from our hearts Our eyes lighting up the dark Our lips were quivering with desire No rain, no flood could dampen that fire Nothing could shake our love It was endless and it was mad You wrote me poems, I wrote you songs I´m still doing that today We sang our love to anyone Here and there and far away We never married, you were my wife You called me husband, we shared one life We were two love-birds high on a tree Two turtle-doves were you and me

Side by Side 03:20
Side By Side Was I the priest, were you the nun? Was I the bishop and you the queen? These are the stones that witnessed our vows And where are you now? Here is the altar, here is the gate Here is the grass under our feet Here are the meadows where we did love And here is the grave Side by side and lying in peace There in the earth I know this place Trust in the present, believe in the past In the future of life Are these the windows where we leant Are these the cloisters where we learned How did it end, this life long ago And where are you now? Sometimes in sleeping, sometimes in birth Sometimes in living here on this earth We are together throughout all time As in one breath Sometimes in dreaming, sometimes in birth Often in living and even in death We are together throughout all time As in one breath

If I lose 03:26
If I lose If I lose this book, I lose no memory I lose just what I took to bind my thoughts away Most of what I wrote, I can write again I only need some paper, I only need my pen If I lose your love, I lose not what you gave You gave more than enough and what I took, I´ve saved If I lose my head, it´s not because of you I gave to you my heart, many years you held it true Chance is always waiting but not for ever more The windows are still open but someone´s closed the door I´m standing in the dark and fumbling for the key It´s not there in it´s usual place, the place it used to be If I lose myself, I´ve got myself to blame I can live without your help, you can live without my name Why did I wish a fine, white dress for you? To show the whole world about my love for you And through the rainy window-pane Is the face I see there really the same As the babe I held in my arms and cried for joy? If I lose my way and stumble on the path The stones I fell over, I put them there myself I will pick myself up and fasten up my shoes For how the journey´s ending, no-one really knows

Kissed by the Sun And there were days when we were flying like birds And the world was eating out of our hands And the times we spent, there were always your eyes Heaven-sent times lying in your arms Where I will always be warm Always warm in your care We shall share the passing of time Together and anywhere Times were golden, summer was long Times were golden, woman and man Tomes were golden, then we were young We were kissed by the sun Midnight, first day of the year Church bells ringing in my ear Champagne and kisses, so sweet in the cold Hopes and wishes, parting with the old Parting with all of those lies All of the lies that we told Parting from the darkness of night Greeting a new year with hope Pushing a boy on the swing I can see how your hips are swaying And your hair is dancing as leaves in the trees I cannot be sure, is there sadness in your eyes? A sadness, for the loss in your heart The fear of starting anew A sadness for the memory passed And of happiness too Now I am thankful for the world that I know Thankful, to all my friends and lovers Who passed through my fields as I harrowed the earth As my days draw full, I think of never-ending birth When we were flying like birds The world eating out of our hands The times we spent, there were always your eyes Heaven-sent time in your arms

In the Town 02:57
In the town These empty streets tell me of you Each path I take I´m thinking of you Now here we met and there we sat And here you walked In your scarf and hat We had our dreams And our dreams came true You lived for me and I lived for you We loved each other As the sun loves the day And all at once you went away Each way I turn I see you there Your lovely smile and your golden hair If we had known the bitter truth We would have died Right there in our shoes And here we wandered through the night And there we held each other tight Between the trees we walked our way Dreading the thought We could part one day Brother, sister, mother, child Husband and wife but for a while We were lovers like no lovers ever were Together we would go To the end of the world

Seven Stars 03:50
Seven Stars Seven stars are shining in the sky Seven Stars are showing us the way To work and to plough the fruitful earth To plant the seed that brings new birth Feed, feed our children Bring us new life Rain, sun, the changing of the seasons The cycle, the never-ending Seven stars are shining in the sky Seven men are ploughing early in the year Breaking up the hard clod, steady as they clear The land of old and sow the new seed That, day by day, they pray will grow Seven maids are wedding, dancing in the corn Giving of their blessing, rejoicing in the form And the colour of the golden seed That gives to each its daily bread Seven towns are feasting, giving thanks for wealth Now the harvest's gathered, celebrating life And joy, the children growing strong The ever-lasting on and on Seven stars are shining in the sky Seven Stars are showing us the way To work and to plough the fruitful earth To plant the seed that brings new birth

Born together We were born together, together we shall be When the white wings of death scatter our days We shall love one another, make no bond of love Fill each other´s cup, give each other bread Sing and dance together to the music of the stars Giving freely of our hearts We shall stand together but not too near As the pillars of the temple stand apart Like the moving of the seas Between the shores of our souls In the silent memory of God God is in my heart, I am in the heart of God Together we shall be for evermore Let the winds of Heaven Dance their love-dance between us Let the hand of life keep safe our hearts For even as these strings are sounding this music They stand apart

Sparkling eyes In your eyes I see hope That loosens the hold of the hangman´s rope That loosens the pressure around my throat You give me love, you give me hope Time will tell why we have met What plans in store but nou just yet Now is the time of your sparkling eyes Now is the time of your sparkling eyes The days are short, the nights are long You gave me a candle to keep me warm You gave me a kiss to weather the storm You held my hand all through the town I feel the bubbles of champagne Your voice, your step, your laugh, your name Those words you whisper again and again You bring me closer to God´s grace Did I love? I cannot tell My heart was captured by the snow Far away where cold winds blow Spring-time sun will melt the snow

Always in my heart There was something sacred with our love A present from the powers above And now these days have come to pass I´ll hold you always in my heart In my eyes I see your face In my soul feel your embrace In this life what comes to pass I´ll hold you always in my heart No moon at night will rise Without remembrance of your eyes They will watch me in my sleep For seven years our love was deep As deep as deepest ocean rift As wide as continents will drift As far as the furthest of the stars I´ll hold you always I´ll hold you always I´ll hold you always in my heart
